Production 1 - Design

Over Christmas break I took some of the pictures for magazine. When I had everything set up, I realized that I wasn’t going to able to do what I had planned out.  Originally,  I was going to take a picture  of pancakes, bacon, and eggs on three separate plates for my cover page. Once I had it all together, it turned out that was going to be a lot more difficult to capture than I had previously thought. So  instead,  I put them all on one plate and tried to see how that would look.  After editing my cover image with Adobe Lightroom, I realized that the  original  font color scheme I was planning on did not match well with the colors of my  image,  so I had to change the colors aroun d.  I am not set on which colors to use but I think I am going to use red for the masthead and then black for the rest of the text in the feature article and content page.

Storyboard

Image
This week we were tasked with creating a storyboard for our magazine or film. I decided to try and take advantage of this opportunity by creating my storyboard for my magazine in Adobe  InDesign. At first, I stumbled upon many challenges, how to change font color, how to resize images, how to change  the borders for the magazine. But after a little of messing around and using Google, I  figured  out how to overcome these challenges.  As of right now, I have a pretty good idea of my title font, color, cover images, and what my feature article is going to be about.  Using InDesign to create my storyboard helped me know what to expect when I create my final m agazine.  When messing around with images I realized that this will not be as easy as I thought it was going to be. Making the masthead the correct font, correct size, and correct color to ma tch the main image turned out to be a lot more challenging  than  I firs...

Preliminary Layout

The masthead for my magazine will be called Grandma's Kitchen. The main image is not set in place yet but i am thinking of putting a picture of my father holding his pancakes. The selling line of the magazine will be "Old fashioned & culturally renowned". The font will be  poppins and adorn condensed sans regular. The feature article title will be " Dad’s  Delicious  Homemade  Fluffy Pancakes", the content within the article will be the pancake recipe and the backstory behind them. For the content page i will have  different articles of different recipes that readers have submitted .
