1st Draft: Grandma's Kitchen

Image
This is my first draft of my cooking magazine grandma's kitchen! I took all of the photos myself and I am super proud how these all turned out. I feel like it has a very professional look and feeling overall and will only need little improvements.

Production 3 - Formatting

After I got the layout how I wanted and the perfect pictures for my magazine I began working on the formatting of the magazine and making sure everything fit. I had to make sure that the colors in my pictures would match well with the color scheme that I chose for my magazine. I Inserted the text for my different articles as well as the pictures and moved them around for the most eye-pleasing look. This only took about a half hour to an hour to get what I think is the perfect layout. The text is clearly visible and so are the pictures. The pictures match the color scheme of the magazine which are different shades of blue and white. My pictures clearly correlate with the article that is next to it.

Production 2 - Pictures and Editing

Me and my partner found a format that we both enjoyed but the pictures I had didn't match the format. That day I retook my pictures for my feature article and cover page. I had googled pictures of pancakes and found one that I liked and that went well with our new template, so I tried to replicate it the best I could. I am pretty happy with how my new pictures turned out. They look a lot more professional than the previous images I took. I edited them in Adobe Lightroom to give them a more professional look instead of them looking like I just took them on my kitchen counter. For lighting I used these hanging lights I have in my kitchen which created a lot more cooler colors than my normal kitchen lights created.
